The Fast Track From Sales Intern to Leadership

START DATE: June 2015

Andrea began her career with Platinum in 2014 as a summer sales intern. Studying marketing and finance in college, Andrea was looking for an internship that would be challenging and relevant for her future career plans. “My parents questioned my decision to do this internship at the beginning, but I figured I had nothing to lose,” Andrea said.

After a summer in the field, Andrea debated if she should continue in the Platinum sales career or look elsewhere after graduation. “I had accepted another job after my internship with Platinum,” Andrea said. “But, I stayed in touch with my team and other reps. They talked to me about the opportunities I could have with a Platinum career, and I was intrigued. Platinum’s leadership really cared and didn’t want me to leave. Everyone here is so supportive; I couldn’t say no.”

Andrea credits the Platinum Process for her continued success and the financial freedom she has been able to achieve at such a young age. At 23, she has paid off her student loan debt, purchased a time share in Mexico and recently just purchased her first home.

Andrea also has a clear vision now for how her current skills and experience will be invaluable to her future business aspirations.

“The confidence that the Platinum sales career has given me at such a young age is huge. I have developed management skills and people skills that I would not have been able to receive while sitting behind a desk or on the phone. These are valuable skills that I will be able to carry with me for the rest of my life. I have more confidence when I look ahead toward creating my own business. It’s unlike anything else.”

Leading by Example
Andrea’s dedication to the Platinum Process and ability to lead by example led to advancement opportunities less than six months after starting as a sales representative. She was also awarded the 2015 Rookie of the Year honor. Her goal as a leader is to help develop strong sales reps and provide them with the resources to achieve the same lifestyle changes that she has experienced.

Andrea’s advice for a recent graduate considering a sales career with Platinum: “Don’t be afraid to take a risk. People who have a lot of success in life did not get there without taking risks. This is the opportunity that could change your life if you buy into it. You would be amazed at what stepping outside of your comfort zone can do for you.”
