Fighting the Impact of Cancer Is Personal

John B.

TITLE: Sales Leader
RESIDES IN: Wisconsin
START DATE: October 2018

John knows all too well the impact cancer can have on a person’s life. In 2014, he battled laryngeal cancer. John, who had a long career as a respiratory therapist, required 32 rounds of radiation on his neck, which took him out of work for 10 months because he couldn’t talk or swallow. He eventually returned to work, but things were different – he had grown to hate the hospital environment. After some time considering other options, John was struck by the financial potential in a Platinum sales career, and he made the move from healthcare to sales.

“In the beginning, I had mixed thoughts,” John admits. “I had anticipation for the financial stability, but I had skepticism as well. Going door to door – I didn’t know if I was ready for that, but I have a saying that you only fail if you stop trying. I thought the worst people could do is say no.”

With his never-stop-trying attitude and the training he received from successful teammates and Platinum leaders, John has grown his career into leadership and has established a personal goal to retire in 10 years at age 67.

“With the advancements that can come your way, and the way that Platinum treats you as part of the family, it’s just amazing to me,” John says. “If you put in the time and effort, and you stick to what is taught to you, and you keep your head up at all times, you will definitely become a success in this business.”
